On 24, 25 and 26 July, from 6.00 pm to 10.30 pm, the Sardelada – also known as the Midsummer Festival – returns.
This is one of the most eagerly awaited events of July in Grado.
The undisputed stars of the event are the sardines, a fish that symbolises Grado’s seafaring tradition and is a key ingredient in traditional Grado cuisine.
During the Sardelada, you can sample them in a variety of preparations, each reflecting the history and authentic flavours of the lagoon: preserved in salt or oil, breaded and fried, ‘in savor’, or ‘a scotadeo’ – cooked in a pan after being rinsed only with seawater.
